Universal Animal PM
As described by Universal Nutrition: “Animal PM is the most complete sleep & recovery product on the market, and the only one tailored specifically to the unique needs of balls-to-the-wall training bodybuilders. It’s not a relaxation product. It’s not a sleep aid. It’s not an anti-catabolic supplement. It’s not a GH booster. It’s not an immune support supplement. It’s not a recovery product. It’s all of these products, efficaciously dosed and wrapped up into one convenient, pre-dosed pack. It’s complete, serious sleep support for the dedicated iron athlete. Think of Animal PM as nothing short of a little R&R in a can.” Universal Animal PM seems almost too good to be true. Let’s examine its key ingredients to see if it really is “the most complete sleep & recovery product” out there.
Universal Animal PM Ingredients:
The key ingredients in Universal Animal PM include: Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Zinc, GABA, AKG, Ornithine HCL, L-Tryptophan, GPC, Valerian Root, Chamomile Root, Hops, L-Theanine, and several other amino acids. These ingredients are categorized into three groups: GH boosting complex, immune and recovery complex, and sleep and relaxation complex.
Rather than analyze whether or not Universal Animal PM is an effective “recovery” supplement, a statement that is very general and not really testable, we will focus on its sleep aid power. The ingredients that impact your sleep are valerian root, chamomile, hops, and L-tryptophan. The first three are common herbal sleep aids and tryptophan is the well-known ingredient in turkey that makes you sleepy. The power of this combination of ingredients is good, not great. Universal Animal PM lacks melatonin and other more powerful ingredients. It may be safer in terms of side effects, but that also means it lacks the power associated with pharmaceutical grade ingredients.
Universal Animal PM Customer Reviews:
“I have used Animal Paks in the past and have been quite impressed so when Universal introduced a sleeping aid I was eager to try it. It did nothing to improve my rest at night. Instead it left me feeling groggy the day after. I gave it a try for about ten days. My sleep was getting worse and worse, and I was feeling more fatigued during the day so I returned it for a refund.” – Jake
“I am already a poor sleeper. With this product I do find myself falling asleep easier, and staying asleep more often throughout the night.” – Brad
Overall Value:
One bottle of Universal Animal PM costs $48.50 and it does come with a refund policy. You should contact Universal Nutrition to get the specifics on their policy (the FAQ section of the website merely says they offer a refund). To be honest, Universal Animal PM costs more than it’s worth. Valerian root, chamomile, and hops are found in tons of sleep aids. The only reason to pay 50 bucks for Universal Animal PM is if it also works to reduce soreness and promote recovery of muscles after a workout. If you’re a workout junky and it is able to do all of that for you, then it is worth buying.
